Here at the Naked Chemist, we like to come from a holistic viewpoint.
That includes reflecting on what it truly means to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Because the most important thing that matters is to truly love who you are body, mind, and soul.
Yet often we get lost in all the noise and lose sight of loving and valuing ourselves; this causes us to make decisions based on other people, rather than trusting in what we think.
So for the purpose of this article, we wanted to look at some tools that we can introduce into our daily lives, in order to start living the life of our dreams.
How to stay healthy
Start a Journal
This is a great way to make friends with yourself.
For most of us our days are full of endless activities that keep us from spending time alone, and knowing how to stay healthy does take work.
Use your journal to record events and to become intimate with yourself, as time goes by you will start to see improvements in areas of your life, that weren’t there before
Tips on how to stay healthy, would not be complete without discussing stress and learning how to deal with it effectively.
Stress is becoming more and more common, as we try to keep up with the fast pace of life – this puts stress on our body causing adrenaline to redirect blood away from the skin, sending it to the muscles instead, making us look pale, drawn and tired.
Dangerous oxidative stress in the form of free radicals is also released when we become stressed, which can lead to premature ageing and stress-related hormones, which can cause havoc with the skin.
Enzymes and other chemicals can end up leaving our bodies feeling exhausted, and our minds burnt out, so it is important to find ways to reduce stress and take time out of our busy day to stop and smell the roses.
Avoid junk food
Processed junk food by there very nature are unhealthy.
These foods have been engineered to trigger our pleasure centers, basically, they trick our brain into overeating — even promoting food addictions in some people.
These foods are usually low in protein, fiber, and nutrients but high in unhealthy ingredients like saturated fat, added sugar, and refined flour and grains, providing us with mostly empty calories.

Get enough beauty sleep
The importance of getting enough good quality sleep cannot be overstated.
Poor sleep can drive insulin resistance, disrupt your appetite hormones, and reduce mental performance.
And poor sleep is linked to individual risk factors for obesity and weight gain. Research has linked actually insufficient sleep and rest, to 89% and 55% increased risk of obesity in children and adults, respectively.
Invest in natural products
We couldn’t complete this series on healthy lifestyle practices, without mentioning the importance of using natural skin care products such as those found in our range, that is not only good for your skin but also the environment.
Many commercial sunscreens and personal care products contain chemicals that get stored in your body’s fatty tissue, which are difficult to remove and accumulate in the body.
So be conscious not only about what you eat but also what you put on your skin.
