Something deep in my DNA draws me to the earth—perhaps an instinct passed down through generations.
It pulls me outdoors, basket in hand, foraging for healing herbs.
A quiet ritual rooted in ancestral wisdom.
This journey has been both personal and profound.
And I’d love to share it with you.
For years, I’ve lived with eczema and psoriasis—a chronic condition that leaves my skin inflamed, itchy, and raw.
The flare-ups come in waves. Just as one patch begins to heal, another surfaces. At times, it feels relentless.
Conventional treatments offered only fleeting relief. Harsh topicals, synthetic creams—none of it felt right.
Eventually, I turned away from the pharmaceutical aisle and began searching for something gentler. Something wiser. Something from nature.
That search led me deep into the world of anti-inflammatory herbs—botanical remedies with remarkable abilities to soothe, calm, and restore the skin. Let me take you on that journey.
Often called the skin saviour, calendula is one of nature’s most soothing remedies. With its golden petals and gentle touch, it brings sunshine to sensitive, stressed-out skin.
Rich in carotenoids and antioxidants, calendula helps neutralise free radical damage, reduce inflammation, and promote healing, making it a go-to for calming conditions like psoriasis, eczema, and sunburn.
You’ll find it in our Xcell Skin Shot, which targets inflammation, supports the skin’s barrier, and delivers a potent blend of healing plant extracts.
Nectar Treatment Balm is a calming, nutrient-rich balm infused with calendula and manuka to soothe and restore even the most delicate skin.
Native to New Zealand, manuka is a true multitasker. Celebrated for its antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties, it’s ideal for blemish-prone, reactive, or inflamed skin.
Manuka helps strengthen your skin’s natural defences and reduces irritation and redness during flare-ups. Its naturally high tannin content makes it especially powerful for restoring balance to compromised skin.
Used for generations by Māori healers, kawakawa is a treasured indigenous plant. Its heart-shaped leaves help calm eczema, soothe sunburn, and ease dry, cracked skin.
This herb is a beautiful reminder of ancestral wisdom—and proof that nature often holds the gentlest answers.
Derived from the comfrey plant, allantoin is nature’s skin repair specialist. It gently softens rough, flaky patches while encouraging cellular renewal and faster skin healing.
Ideal for psoriasis, sunburn, and sensitive skin, this botanical active brings comfort and calm without irritation.
Chamomile is like a lullaby for your skin. Renowned for its calming properties, it’s packed with azulene and bisabolol—natural compounds that help reduce inflammation, ease itching, and support healing.
Perfect for sensitive or reactive skin, it creates a feeling of comfort and serenity with every application.
Cooling, calming, and refreshing—cucumber is more than just water. It’s rich in vitamin C and caffeic acid, both of which are known to reduce puffiness and soothe irritated or sunburned skin.
Its anti-inflammatory benefits help to calm sensitivity and rehydrate skin in need of relief.
A true skin-regenerating wonder, seabuckthorn is rich in over 190 nutrients, including rare omega-7, vitamins A and E, and a potent blend of antioxidants.
It works deep within the skin to reduce inflammation, promote healing, and support collagen synthesis, making it ideal for those with scarring, rosacea, eczema, or dry, damaged skin.
Its vibrant orange hue is a sign of its strength, nourishing the skin from the inside out for a calm, radiant glow.
Lightweight yet deeply restorative, rosehip seed oil is a favourite for inflamed, barrier-compromised skin.
Rich in essential fatty acids and natural vitamin A, it helps reduce redness, fade pigmentation, and speed up cellular turnover without clogging pores.
Loved by those with sensitive or acne-prone skin, it supports repair while promoting a brighter, more even-toned complexion.
If you love a hands-on approach to skincare, this calming blend is one of my personal favourites. It’s simple to make and wonderfully effective for soothing inflamed, irritated skin.
2 tbsp Calendula oil
1 tbsp Chickweed extract
1 tbsp St. John’s Wort extract
1 tsp evening Primrose oil
5 drops of Vitamin E oil
Combine all ingredients in a dark glass dropper bottle.
Gently shake before each use.
Apply morning and evening to areas of inflammation, dryness, or discomfort.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
This healing infusion is especially supportive for eczema- and psoriasis-prone skin, thanks to its rich anti-inflammatory and barrier-repairing properties.
There’s something deeply empowering about healing with nature. These gentle yet potent anti-inflammatory herbs have helped me reclaim control over my skin—and they can help you too.
They offer more than short-term relief. They strengthen your skin’s barrier, soothe inflammation, and build long-term resilience from within.
At The Naked Chemist, our mission is straightforward: to create skincare that’s as effective as it is natural.
Each balm, serum, and infusion is crafted with a fusion of plant wisdom and modern cosmetic science, designed to deliver real results without compromise.

Hi Samantha. I have always tried to use natural holistic/organic products for my skincare, and in life for that matter. I have a friend who is an aesthetician and I have gotten 4 microneedling treatments since Dec. I am not completely happy with my skin now and I’d love to have you look at it and suggest some healing products. Thank you for your time.
Hi trina
Absolutely so pleased your skin has healed. Do you want to send some photos through to samjade888@gmail,com? So we can assess your skin Trina?
