It’s true, we spend a lot of time on our appearance.

Looking for the next quick fix to make us look gorgeous.

But have you ever looked at someone, and instinctively been able to tell, that their diet is completely out of whack?

Your skin is a dynamic organ, a reflection of what is also going on internally.

Poor lifestyle choices, stress and ill health show up in our skin. Because when you think about it, we are just cellular energy, made up of 50 trillion cells; we need to feed and nourish the cells in our body, not only on our face.

Through my own personal journey with my skin conditions, I realised the profound effect proper nutrition had on helping to heal my own skin concerns. When you’re healthy, skin repairs faster.

Essential things for skin rejuvenation are vitamins, minerals, fats, protein fluid, energy and minerals, soo in many ways,

what you eat today affects what you look like tomorrow

Here’s a few little nutritional beauty teeasers for you

Vitamin A is a vital part of any program for encouraging your skin to age healthily; Dry, rough skin can be a sign that you aren’t getting enough vitamin A. rough raised bumps on the back of arms keratosis pilaris.

Vitamin B12 becomes increasingly poorly absorbed with age, is vital for  protecting our DNA, and so it is likely to slow down skin ageing.

Vitamin C helps the formation of collagen in the dermis (the dense network of collagen, elastin, nerves, muscles, water carriers and sweat glands)These are created when  vitamin C converts the amino acid proline into hydroxyproline. So, without vitamin C, you’ll have no collagen. One reason that our collagen and elastin fibres become less flexible and breakdown with age is due to damage caused by free radicals, such as those generated by UV and pollution. This damage can be greatly reduced by antioxidants, especially vitamins A and C.

Vitamin D is a vital anti-ageing vitamin that most of us don’t get enough of. It’s made by the action of sunlight on the skin and needs the cholesterol found there to do it.

Magnesium is referred to as the beauty mineral in China. It has over 300 different metabolic processes in the body; it balances electrolytes and is essential for hydration and beautiful skin.

Zinc your skin is not going to look as good as it could, a vital mineral required for the accurate production of new skin cells. Without it you may suffer from stretch marks and poor wound healing. as well as a wide variety of skin problems, ranging from eczema to acne.

Iron is essential for transporting oxygen to the skin cells.

Copper is also another essential part of collagen synthesis by building strong cross links in the collagen.

Vitamin E is one of the most important antioxidants, working to maintain the integrity of cell membranes.
