Homemade Facial Scrub Recipes

Homemade facial scrub recipes can be made with everyday items.

These recipes are simple, fun and effective to make, but above all they are natural.

So let’s get busy with lovely botanical’s, to make a really effective facial scrub, and be sure to apply the following procedures to the recipes below:

  • In a small bowl mix together the dry ingredients and oils
  • Next add the water ingredients to the blend
  • Ensure you thoroughly cleanse and tone your skin
  • Then gently apply your homemade facial scrub to your skin, in small circular motions, being careful not to over scrub the skin
  • Do this for a minute and then gently rinse away the scrub
  • Pat dry with a towel
  • Finish with your choice of moisturiser

Homemade facial scrub recipes

Orange, Yogurt Scrub

This is a perfect scrub for someone suffering from breakouts or pimples.

Both the orange and witch hazel, are slightly astringent:

  • 1 tbsp. Natural Yogurt
  • 1 tbsp. Oatmeal
  • 1 tbsp. Bran
  • 1-2 tbsp. Witch hazel
  • 1 drop Orange essential oil

Mediterranean Skin Scrub

This is a great little formula for a mature skin type:

  • 7 ml of Olive oil
  • 1 tsp of Castor sugar
  • 1 drop Sandalwood essential oil
  • 1 drop Frankincense essential oil

Healing Rose Scrub

A lovely gentle homemade facial scrub, for even the most sensitive of skin types;

  • 1 tbsp. Fine oats
  • 1 tbsp. Bran
  • 2 drops Rose hydrosol
  • 1 drop Rose geranium

Lemon Tea Tree Scrub

This is a great combination for an oily skin:

  • 2 tbsp. Bran
  • 2 tbsp. Oatmeal
  • 1- 2 tbsp. Yogurt
  • 1 – 2 tbsp. Water
  • 1 drop Lemon essential oil
  • 1 drop Tea tree essential oil

 Honey and Oatmeal Scrub

A lovely softening facial scrub recipe, that is perfect for a dry and parched skin:

  • 2 tbsp. Fine Oats
  • 1 tbsp. Wild honey
  • 1 tbsp. Wheat germ
  • 1 – 2 tbs Milk
  • 1 drop Roman chamomile essential oil

Gentle Enzymatic exfoliating scrub

  • 1 tbsp. Papaya enzymes
  • 1 tbsp. Rice powder
  • 1 tbsp. Chamomile powder
  • 1/2 tbsp. Yellow clay
  • 1/2 tbsp. Fullers earth
  • Mix with enough water to make a paste
